Default Just bought a club car???

I went to a auction and bought a couple of Club Cars. The first one started right up and off we went. The other one on the other hand has power but will not move. The motor does not turn over when I depress the pedal. The motor spins freely. I am wondering where is the first place to start? I have read to check the micro switches under the gas/brake pedals and the siliniod. I believe the cart is a 2001. I am mechanically inclined but do not know anything about these beasts. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I plan to get it running and trick it out. I paid 250.00 for each one of them and its in pretty good shape.

I assume the battery is good ? The solenoid is located under the black cover next to the battery, cover is secured with a single phillips head screw. There is also a 10amp fuse in there, check that first. If the fuse is good, you will need to check voltage across both the small feed terminals and the larger supply terminals. There are also two micros in the box, one for start and one for stop but we will get to those after you check the above.

When I put the cart in reveerse it makes the beeping noise, so I assume the battery is good. I checked the fuse and it is also good. The selonoid I have not checked and I dont have a meter on hand to check. I guess I need to get my meter out of storage. Is there anyway to check the micro switches? Can you jump the selonoid? Do they take a special selonoid or can I get one from advance auto?

I found out its a 2000. It has the 9 HP motor. What is the carb kit part number? How do you adjust the drive belt?

just because the battery has enough juice to power the back up alarm bepper does not mean it has enough to even atempt to turn the motor, so i would back up and realy check the battery,

I will put the battery on the charger and see what happens. I have been looking to see what kit I need for the carb and what spark plug it takes. I found the gap setting .028-.031, but no plug number.

Have you ever tried google or ebay ? If that doesn't cut the mustard the search function is available for free as well

What I mean by motor spins freely is I can turn the flywheel over by hand.

Not wishing to sound mean but; you have two carts. One runs, the other doesn't. Why not compare the two to see what is going on with the dead one ?
You claim "mechanical aptitude" ? How hard can it be to reference one cart with another ?
