Default missing generator/starter

Well I finally got to take a good look at my cart. Its missing the generator/starter. They cut the wires and took off the darn thing. Now I am wondering if something else is wrong with it. I noticed the belt was just sitting there and there was something missing behind the exhaust. Now before I spend 150+ on a generator I want to be sure it runs. I notice it has a white wire and a yellow wire that were cut off and just sitting there.

Bummin. It will take some help but you could try running a piece of rope around the sg pulley behind the drive clutch. Lawnmower style. Or maybe thread in a bolt in the end of the clutch and use a drill with a socket adapter

WHere does the wire go from the generator to the bottom of the motor? Is it a ground? If so what do you ground it on?

There are times when a sturdy tree branch and a stout rope come to mind. This, is one of those times. I'm going to bed before I hallucinate over what a ground is, what a ground does, how to ground a ground and what exactly constitutes a ground.
Wake me up when it's all over please I'll likely be in the ground

That is my question........is it a ground? Like I said mine is missing completely, I looked at my buddies and he has a wire going towards the bottom of the motor but I could not trace it.

Your best bet in this situation for a good response is pictures, a good picture is worth a 1000 words.

I would but there is nothing to take a picture of. I found it on my buddies. I got a Starter/Gen but its off of a toro. Its 25 amps 12 volt and it turns CCW. What is the direction they are supposed to turn? Anyone know the correct part number for the starter/gen?
