Proper way to check the oil level on KF82
Wondering the proper way to check the oil on my KF82 motor. the dipstick threads into the case. a buddy of mine is a mechanic at a mower shop and told me the newer kawasaki engines you unscrew it wipe it then stick it in the hole without threading it back in. it reads right at the H level on the dipstick if i remove it, wipe it off, rethread all the way in then remove and check. or right at the L level if i remove it, wipe it off, then check with the threads just touching. he wasnt sure how these dipsticks on this older engine is designed to be read.
