Default A couple ?? about performance upgrades...

My engine builder (after seeing what my Ez Go can do) know wants to "hop up" his Club Car . We already zip tied a couple coils on his Gov spring but what he really needs is more torque than high end speed. He uses this cart to tow a top alcohol dragster and usually has it well over loaded with crew members at the same time.

Most of the mods in the stickies it looks like we could do in house, Even the clutch machining if I could get an idea of what exactly gets machined and to what spec.

Also, how much risk of self destruction would shaving the head cause (providing it was kept at a reasonable RPM after) if no other internal parts were replaced or rebuilt?

One other thing, is the belt linked in the sticky shorter than the factory belt? I have a 1" shorter belt on my TXT and it made a world of difference and would really like to be able to do that to his CC.

Thanks

Forgot, here's the #'s he gave me off the cart

ag9537 458696

belt 1016203-c 0401 391

engine single cly kaw overhead valve

code #fe290d-ds05 e/nofe290d177489

i beleive there is a way to put a cooler on that engine since it has a pump but i don,t know how to go about it......there are a few cap screws right by the filter and not long ago someone here put an oil pressure gage on using one or both of those holes, you might be able to do a search to find it and as for the rest it can be done but you might want to go to the big block forum for that knowledge.......would your bud consider dumping a bigger engine in it? that might end up being cheaper.......if not what he does make sure he puts a tach on it as its not hard to blow them up.......................

We had discussed the BB idea but it's not really in the budget right now as he is building a new dragster. I'll try again to find anything regarding oil mods but I haven't had any luck with the search feature.

Like I stated, he's not looking for top end speed so we could leave the RPM limiter intact if that could help prolong the life and avoid any damage. Just more umpf to get things rolling.

Here is the link where the guy put the gauges on his cart, it's got a pic of the oil tube set up off the filter house.

Thanks for the link.

I guess what I really need is an oil pathway diagram to see if I can figure out where to tap into for a cooler.

wild bill,

i have an oil temp gauge on my cart, and also think like you do. i think the oil holes or plugs on the filter plate would be to small for a cooler. i live in texas where it can get hot at times. the hottest i have seen the oil temp get up to was a 190 degrees, i was more thinking of an electric fan to move the hot air away, thats the rought i am gonna take when summer hits here.

hope this helps
my son thinks your a chevy man.........lol

I wish I had deep pockets

I do it on the cheap with second hand parts and a lot of help.

My charger runs Pro E/T (bracket race) and thanks to my motor sponsor is running 9.90's

My wife's 72 charger (the yellow one) runs in Sportsman and runs high 12's.

Taylor, my oldest daughter (soon to be 14) is running her dragster in the advanced class currently running low 8's in the 1/8th mile. Fastest she's allowed to go is 7.90 per the rules.

My youngest Kaitlin, was 8 yrs old when her vids were shot and that was her first times out. She is now 9 and still in the novice class. Restricted to 12.90 or slower. When she turns 10 she will be able to move up to intermediate and be able to go 8.90's in the 1/8th.

Believe it or not, My car was that color when I bought it. I was gonna change it but it kinda grew on me

But we digress.....

Back to the subject at hand, which mods would b best to improve the low end pulling power of this CC?
