Source for 341cc engine

Any vendor recommendations for replacement 341cc engines? The one I have in this 89 CC was rebuilt 8 years ago and it is shot...

yes the newer engine the fe-290 will fit but you,ll need to buy the kit to get it mounted right, you can even go big block like sno mobile or a big briggs it just will need modded a bit.............................

it would be easy to put a clone in your cc. and lots cheaper.

We do a few Kawasaki FE290s and 350s You just have to drill a few holes mount your clutch and hook up throttle. Brand new motor, exhaust and cables you have about $900-975 in it

You could put a Fe250 for 400.00 on ebay.

I have an 89 CC that had rod knock and needed a new engine. I bought a 15 hp Lifan from Home Depot, clutch adapter from CCP and a throttle cable kit from Affordable Go Carts, total cost $ 350.00. Reused my origional clutch, made a new motor mount plate and made a bracket to mount my starter/generator. The coversion is not too bad, I took my time to make mine the best I could using information on this site. Only thing I am waiting for is the throttle cable. Sounds like its very worthwhile considering the origional engine is only like 8.5 hp. Good luck

I am contemplating a clone to replace the stock engine in my 89 also. I've started doing a little research but also have a couple questions.
- Primarily I want to know if any of the motors don't require a lift kit? I'd rather leave it stock.
- Do you run with the stock muffler?
- Does anyone make a motor mount or is there a drawing posted for one of the motors?

my clone honda gx390 has a pretty low profile. no lift required even after i installed 3 1/4" higher than stock so it could sit over my jackshaft. you could run your stock exhaust, but it would have to modified to fit. as for the motor mount.......my clubcar has a skidplate engine craddle. plenty of room to drill new mounting holes. or you could go on www.afordablegokarts.com and buy a mounting plate.
