Re: 1992 club car gas
WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE IS PUSHED DOWN,NOTHING HAPPENS,WHEN YOU LET UP AND PRESS AGAIN SOMETIMES IT WILL BACK FIRE AND START TO MOVE. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME. COULD THIS BE IN THE FUEL PUMP? IF YOU PUSH IT FAST IT WILL NOT TURN OVER. IF YOU PRESS SLOW IT WILL HESETATE AND MOVE.THE BELT,PULLEY AND THE LINKAGE LOOKS OK.

Re: 1992 club car gas
Are you sure its doing nothing? Do you see the belt trying to move when you press the pedal? The first sign of the starter going bad is a hesitation when you press the pedal. It gets hung up on the compression stroke. If you catch the problem quick enough, you can replace the starter brushes and it would be fixed. If you wait too long, you damage the armature and need a new or remanufactured one. If you notice no belt movement at all, then it may be a micro switch. Starter belt tightness is another problem too. Some think that it is supposed to be super tight but in reality, the manual says it is supposed to slip a little and then grab. Too tight and it ruins the starter prematurely.

Re: 1992 club car gas
Usually brushes can be found at any of your cart dealers. I suggest getting aholf of Cart Parts Plus for them I have bought re-built starters from him and they have been top notch. Its been a few yews since i bought one but it was only like $100 + shipping. Maybe you could send yours to him for rebuild and save some money?

Re: 1992 club car gas
Like I said, if it just started, you can get away with brushes. If its been getting worse over time, then it would need re-built.
