Default 94 club car how do you test coil

Ok I'm working on my neighbors cart it's a 94 club cart, It has intermittened spark. hot or cold doesn't matter it's just when it feels like it. When there's no spark the white and black wire at the micro swicth has ground. unhooked at the limiter it looses it's ground. But still have ground on the coil side. Take wire off coil and spade on coil has ground. He got a new coil today and it also has ground on the spade when mounted to motor.

Isn't ground what shuts off coil. in my thinking the wire going to the limiter and micro switch should ground out coil to turn it off. But then why do I have ground at the coil spade with no wire hooked to it. I though shorted coil. but then the new coil is the same way.

Did I get a bad coil or am I not thinking straight
Does any one have a wiring diagram of the limiter and coil. all wiring diagrams that I've found just say it goes to limiter but don't show you any wiring.
Thanks for the help

94,s are good for the ignitor and or the rpm limitor going bad .......spark on spark off.........the ignitor is bolted to the same bracket that holds the limitor on its just mounted to the rear side of it................theres no real way to bench test any of them and what C.C. tells you is to put known good working parts in ( new ) and if it cures it leave it that way................my suggestion is to replace the rpm limitor and ignitor as a pair........................because you just never know which one of them it is....as for the coil on that year it would be the last thing i would replace..................................

I put the new coil on and had spark, put the old one on and no spark, put new one on and spark again. My neighbors kids rode it all around the camp ground for hours with no problems. So I think I got it.
