Default 1992 Club Car DS Speed

I originally replaced the throttle cable because it was bent and burnt which made the carb always half open making the cart jump when starting. My goal was to try and get 20mph out of the cart without making any major adjustments. I bought the clutch tuning kit and the torque increase spring from buggies unlimited. I have had them both on and off and have disconnected the govener. I disconnected it by losening the clamp on the transaxle and just leaving it in place. I have 8" rims and original tires too. The fastest I could get it on gps was 15.9mph. I have been thinking of getting the high speed gears. Any extra info on getting some more speed would be great. Thanks

Did a couple more checks today. The carb is clean and free from debris, it has 105psi compression, and without the govener connected in service mode it gets just over 3600rpm's. I believe the rpms are a little low with the carb all the way open. What I think is happening is when the engine is under a load it will not ramp up to a high enough rpm to get the speed I am looking for. With the original springs in both clutches and the throttle all the way open the drive clutch is all the way closed and the driven clutch is all the way open in service mode. Anyone have any ideas on possible loss of power under these conditions? Thanks for you help.

have You unhooked the rev. limiter? and make sure all the cables are adjusted tp ax. performance. Also are you running a shorter belt?

I never diconnected the rev limiter because I never noticed it even getting up that high in the rpm's to shut it down. I have went both ways with the throttle cable without much change. As for the belt, I am not sure if it is shorter. It is the belt that was on it when I bought it. If it is to short could that be a problem? I also have on order the clutch adjustment tool, when it comes in I will check the alignment of the two clutches.

I would replace the belt with the Napa 6013 and then try unpluging the brown wire on the rev. limiter and see how she runs.
