Gas leaking from carburetor air line
Hello, I just purchased a 1996 club car with a FE290. It is very clean with very little use. It was running fine and then all of the sudden it started purging fuel from what I believe is the breather tube on the carb. I took it apart to ensure that the float wasn't stuck or broken and everything looks fine. re-assembled and it still purges...not just a little fuel but a very constant drip. Any advice??

Re: Gas leaking from carburetor air line
So fuel is coming from your overflow tube? Sounds like you're getting too much fuel in the carb. You have a fuel filter in place before the fuel pump?

Re: Gas leaking from carburetor air line
So.. I think I figured my problem out...I realize this makes me a complete idiot but hopefully it will help somebody out in the future.
I mistook the pilot jet screw for the mixture screw so I kept it 2 turns out...After tightening the pilot screw it seems to run fine. I am going to load a cooler with refreshments (just incase I get stranded :)) and test it out. I will post the results. Thanks! |
