Okay, replace the ignitor and coil with a 1997 or newer ignitor/coil combination. They are all in one. Disconecct the old ignitor wire which is located just behind the rpm limitor and pull the wire gently that connects to the coil, not the one that goes to the spark plug, but the other one that plugs into the new coil that was on the old coil just a bit further and plug it into the new coil. Then put back the shroud that was on the engine and you should be all set. It worked great for me. I hope it does for you, which I am sure that it will. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Thanks For The Reply
Only Problem Is I Already Bought Just The Coil, So I Have To Stick With Separate Ignitor, Wish I Would Have Known You Could Buy Them Together. Thanks Tcmj |

HELLO ALL
JUST WANTED TO UPDATE, I INSTALLED NEW IGNITOR, CART RUNS LIKE A CHARM, THANKS FOR THE HELP. NOW I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM AND I'M WOUNDERING IF THERE IS AN EASY WAY OUT. I HAVE AN OIL LEAK BETWEEN THE CRANKCASE COVER AND CRANKCASE, IN THE AREA ABOVE THE DIPSTICK TUBE. I THOUGHT MAYBE THE REED VALVE WASN'T WORKING, THE MANUAL SAYS .008" CLEARANCE BETWEEN VALVE AND SEAT, IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL. IT LOOKS LIKE ENGINE MUST COME OUT TO CHANGE CRANKCASE GASKET, HAS ANYONE EVER TRIED LOOSENING BOLTS AND USING A GASKET SEALER WITH ENGINE IN CART? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() THANKS TCMJ |

Couple of guys here say you can do it in the cart. Pull the clutch, clean crankshaft before removing side cover, clean and install gasket, reassy.
I've wondered if the gasket could be wormed over the clutch and side cover after cleaning but the one I did needed rings so motor came out. |

Hello All!
Cart Is Running Good, But Have Another Oil Leak. I Replaced Crankcase Cover Gasket, Everything Went Well, Now I Have Oil Leaking From Plug Opposite Side Of Cover From Oil Dipstick Hole. Two Questions, Is The Reed Valve Not Working Right And Building To Much Pressure In Crankcase? Second, Where Can I Find A Plug? Appreciate Any Help, Thanks Tcmj. |

No problems, That is another dipstick tube hole used when the motor is used on other applications.
The plugs do get old and hard and need replaced. You can get them from your local dealer or depending on your area, hit your local auto parts store for one of the rubber freeze plugs. Stick in the hole and tighten. Mitch |
