Weird stuff: 03 DS transmission hum?

Not quite sure what's going on here, but one of my fleet carts has a strange whir/hum coming from the transmission area of the cart. I thought it was just the drive belt cause it was pretty shot but after replacing it, I still have the sound. My next thought is the driven or drive clutch is causing the noise but I have no idea. Thoughts?

did you check the level of the oil in the rear end?

does it make the sound with the belt removed? just to double check the engine.

does this sound happen in neutral or while driving? that helps to narrow it down a bit more.

I recently replaced a driven clutch for a guy at the campground. his second in as many years. he refuses to wash his cart. the dirt had actually warn away about a 1/16 around the bushing on the driven sheave. when spinning i thought the tranny was going to come apart. it was that loud.

maybe try swapping the driven between 2 of your fleet carts to eliminate a clutch problem?
