Little Lag
So I have noticed that when i go and push on the gas in my cart, there is about a 3 second lag before it turns on and goes. Sometimes if i press "just right" it will go right away. There is also a "click" noise when it does start to go... any ideas on how i can "tune" this up and get rid of the lag.
thanks, C |

Re: Little Lag
many things can cause this "lag" you speak of...loose starter belt, bad starter brush or brushes, faulty microswitch, weak battery, loose connection on solenoid(which is what is clicking when pedal is depressed...

Re: Little Lag
The solenoid is in the black box by the battery right?

Re: Little Lag
Well, I checked and tightened the Solenoid and the starter belt is about as tight as can be... no slippage. So i am thinking i should replace the micro switch next and see but do i have a two or three terminal one? And are they difficult to replace, i saw it in the black box next to the solenoid, didn't look hard.
thanks, C |

Re: Little Lag
Could just be the strater brushes like was mentioned above. the next time it dosnt start on the first try try getting up and turning the starter a little by hand and then try to restart with the peddle. You may have a dead spot. I'm not saying this is your problem Im just giving you something to try.
Thanks |

Re: Little Lag
Thanks!! I'll try that, but I want to replace the switch, they are cheap enough. You know what one I need?

Re: Little Lag
sorry lost track of this post...On a DS model there are two microswitches stacked on topin the pedal box where the solenoid is located..I've never asked but I'm assuming thats what you have. The one on top should have three post and the one on bottom have two.
