Default 1987 club car trouble

I have to choke my cart to get it to take off and go even when it is warm. It will also backfire any ideas? thanks

dirty fuel filter, stopped up main jet in carb, tight valve or dirty plug. just to name a few things to check. also look at the fuel lines from to tank to the pump make sure they are not cracked or cut.

Check the air breather box. They have to be tightly sealed and the air filter has to fit snugly. If it leaks air around the edges, the engine will not run right, pretty much just like you are explaining.

tes go over your fuel system from tank to carb, if your having to choke it its starving for gas...................................

.... dont forget the throttleblade/ butterfly in the carb, if its hanging up youll have similar problems, or it could have eaten it all together and sucked it down the intake like my 93 did.. lol..
