Default Fe 350 clutch question

I have an 07 CC turf 2. It has the FE350 in it. Every 100-150 hours I have to replace the drive clutch as the sheeves are worn badly. I do have a lift and 22" tires.

The stock clutch, and the current ones are both oem club car units. I have a key start kit and the appropriate springs in the drive and driven clutch.

My concern is that the clutch looks the same as a FE290 clutch on regular carts. I have seen a different (black) clutch from clubcar advertised for the FE350.... Is there a difference? Should I keep buying what I've had or try the "FE350" clutch?

Also what is the difference in the two aside from color?

According to my CC dealers website, the black drive clutch is for "industrial use",
What that means? I don't know... (thicker sheeves? springs? just all around heavier?)
The price however, is double compared to the OEM FE290/350 drive clutch!

It concerns me that yours is wearing out so quickly! I have 211 hours on my 07 FE350 OEM drive clutch,
It idles, I've got a severe duty belt on it, and I beat the heck out of it! and there's almost no wear on it!
I feel I can get at least another 200 hours on it before I have to replace just the thrust washer, and buttons!

I'd suggest either getting a clutch aligning tool, or have a CC dealer align your clutches for you!
Only because... your drive clutch should NOT wear out that fast!

the club car description is horrid!! i would think alignment, but the wear is equal on both sides of the clutch, and the driven is perfect!

We have a key start/stay running FE350 in my wifes cart. Now has over 900 hours on it and haven't had any issue with the clutch. In fact the only issue we ever had was the starter belt breaking last Halloween while trick or treating.

i have a lift kit, 22" tires, a full metal cab W/heater, and i use it to plow in the winter with a 60" plow, i haul wood, gravel and rocks all the time with it, and use it to pull my road drag. My 300 hours of use is probably 1200 to any one else's normal use. I work the CRAP out of it, and it certainly doesn't owe me any thing!!!

I'd suggest getting with CPP and look into an upgraded performance clutch. Not only will it last longer but can't hate performance.

I'll have to give him a buzz. I had no idea you could put a different clutch on. I thought those were just for engine swaps! Thanks for the tip.
