Default 1993 Club Car won't Start

I could feather the pedal and sometimes get it to slowly start, now it will not start at all. The solenoid clicks when I press the pedal. I rotated the starter generator by hand and then sometimes I could get it to start. Is this caused by bad brushes in the starter? If so how can I check them and what do I check for, or do I just need to get a new starter. Thanks in advance

Mine is doing the same thing...tough to start, tough to get it to spin over...slow to spin. I just took the starter / generator off today. With it off and on the bench it is extremely difficult to spin the pulley by hand. Not sure what is gaffed up inside, but something is wrong. I guess I'll will find out when I pull it apart (didnt have time...or a clean spot on the bench). I'll let you know what I find.

My dad just called and he picked up a rebuilt starter/generator today and finished putting it on just a few minutes ago. Walla, problem fixed. He said that he could just barely push the pedal now and it would start. Looks like we now have an old starter that needs to be rebuilt. Hopefully this helps with your problem.

most cases just a set of brushes will dfo but since you have to take it apart might as well check everything else out and clean it really good..................
