Default won't begin running

The cart was running fine, (2002 gas club car with all gas lines, filters and fuel pump recently replaced) I hit a bump in the cart trail and lost running power, I stepped on the gas and the engine would turn over very slowly but not (speed up) quite fast enough to engage the clutch and move forward or backward. I fiddled with the maintenance switch to see if was an engine to transmission problem with no results; engine still ran very slowly. I got towed in from the course. I went to show a friend what the symptoms were (slow engine speed) by first putting it in the maintenance (neutral switch and lever) and the damned thing ran. I then undid the maintenance switch and put it in gear and it ran OK for the rest of the day. What could hitting a bump cause as a temporary slow engine run problem, and might it again happen if I don't fix something loose?

Unhappy Re: won't begin running

I recently bought an older club car. Guy said it was good for my kids. Well a week after I bought it I get the same results if a bump is ran over.

does it begin running again after the initial bump shuts it down?
