Ticking noise in engine

I have a bone stock 90 CC.
It has a ticking noise in the engine and a few guesses is the valves need to be adjusted.
Does anyone know the procedure or have any recommendations to fix this problem?
I have put on new exhaust and gasket and a new head gasket.

Do you have the manual? I know how to adjust the 92 and up but i think 1990 had a diffrent engine, you try changing the oil? And how bad is the ticking noise?
