You may want a tach to keep an eye on just how high you are revving the old girl?

I REMOVED MY GROUND STRAP AND BACKED OFF THE REAR NUT AND MY CART WILL DO ABOUT 28-29MPH (GPS) WITH 23X10.5X12 WHEELS/TIRES. I DEFINATELY NOTICED THE HIGHER TOP END BUT IT'S STILL A DOG OFF THE LINE WITH THE TALLER TIRES. i WAS AFRAID MY 17YO SON WOULD DESTROY THE THING SO I HOOKED UP A TOGGLE SWITCH FOR THE GROUND AND ALSO ADDED A MOMENTARY CONTACT SWITCH (ACTUALLY AN AUTOMOTIVE DOOR PIN SWITCH WITH A BLACK RUBBER BOOT ON IT WHICH DISCONNECTS WHEN YOU PRESS IT) THE MOMENTARY CONTACT SWITCH WILL BE MOUNTED IN THE FLOORBOARD TO THE LEFT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN I'M DONE. IF YOU TURN OFF THE TOGGLE SWITCH YOU CAN USE THE MOMENTARY CONTACT SWITCH LIKE A BOOST BUTTON! THIS PREVENTS ANYONE FROM CONSTANTLY RUNNING THE CART AT TOO HIGH RPMs. JUST PUSH THE BUTTON WITH YOUR LEFT FOOT AND YOU GET ABOUT 5-6 MPH SPEED GAIN. WORKS GREAT!

This is great...As you can see I`m new here, and I`ve been trying to find these answers for some time. I`m new to gas CC`s but have several electric ones, That I`ve boosted the power on.

Thanks CartTrader

I just want to point out one thing. I am not saying this will not work or does not work, all I'm gonna say is electronics in general don't like voltage spikes......like removing and re-installing a ground. What works one day may fry your ignition module the next. Club cars electronic ignition may be built well enough but you never know because it really hasn't been tested that much. Keep us informed.

A little off topic but I need to know. I have a 96 CC, just got it. After getting up to top end (without any mods on my part) It does a nose dive and the engine just cuts off and on like the limiter switch is being activated. So I disconnected the ground wire thats just to the side of the valve cover. Is that the right wire everyone is talking about diconnecting for the limiter? Just a bare wire from engine to frame? I did it and it still nosedives and acts like a lawnmower at high speed and not cutting grass, just off and on.

Thanks

No... that's your engine ground strap!
hook it back up or you may have battery charging issues!

The proper limiter ground wire to disconnect would be the wire eyelet at #1, and #4 in the illustration!

Remove the left bolt on the limiter, remove (do not cut!) the wire eylet from that bolt,
reinstall the bolt, and tape up the wire eyelet with electrical tape!

NOTE:
The momentary switch Idea... Not a good idea IMO...
if your 17 yr old continually runs it at full throttle,
and and continually "Bounces off" the limiter (cutting on and off)
That can, and will cause engine damage!
