Default 95 gas CC no start with new switches and solenoid

I'm a bit perplexed and before I start doing anymore I thought I'd ask to see if I'm missing something.

I have a 95 gas CC that started having some starting issues awhile back. It would just sit for a bit before it would start, with sometimes having to back off the pedal some to get it to crank.

Now, it wont start at all. I checked the fuse and its fine. I could not jump the solenoid to get it to start but would still hear the click. I bought a new solenoid AND all four new microswitches. .....still nothing. You can hear it "moan" or labor , and with a test light each pole is Very dim. With the key on/off the side connectors get the power, no problem there.

The battery has 11.9 vlts and when I push the pedal it drops down to 5vlts

The grounds all look good, so I'm thinking it's the starter.

Is there something else that I should look for?

That sounds like a weak battery to me. It may be reaching the end of its useful life.
Fully charged, a battery should show around 12.6 Volts.

You can take your battery to a local auto parts store and have them load test it. Many of the larger chains offer that service.

Thanks!....it was a thought but I just discounted it since it wasnt that old and was appearing to hold a charge, but it could also have a bed cell too...

Fingers crossed!

If it drops to 5V, the battery is junk.
