Tires/Wheel question?
I have a 96 Club Car DS and want to add a 3 inch lift and 22x10x10 tires. I do not want to add any width to the cart as it has to go in a 51 inch door in my toy hauler. What size rim and I looking for? What about the offset? Will I have any problems with rubbing when loaded heavy with this set up? I have heavy duty rear springs and a rear seat kit.
Thanks for any help you can offer me. |

Re: Tires/Wheel question?
I think you're going to add some width if you're going with 22x10x10 tires whether you want to or not. How wide is your cart at it's widest point now?

Re: Tires/Wheel question?
47 3/4" outside rear tires. Can I go with centered rims with 10 inch tires? Will they rub on the inside? I understand a lift will add 4 inches width to front but it is only 43 inches in the front now.

Re: Tires/Wheel question?
I have 22x10x8 tires on my '87 DS. I put a 6" double a-arm lift on my cart, and in order to keep the inner sidewall from rubbing on the front suspension I bought offset wheels, which added about 3" of width. The sidewall also looks like it adds maybe an inch or so on either side, so I'm guessing my total width across the tires is now about 5-6" wider than it was with the stock wheels/tires.
I'll measure my width across the tires when I get home and let you know. Your 47 3/4" measurement is with stock wheels/tires? My stock tires were 18x8.5x8 if I remember correctly. |

Re: Tires/Wheel question?
I've got 22x10x10 centered wheels on my unlifted 01 DS. They added a bit of width but not a lot. I never measured but on OE wheels and tires I had a little clearance on each side backing onto a 4 foot trailer. With the new wheels and tires it has to be spot on to fit.
The front axle still has plenty of clearance. |

Re: Tires/Wheel question?
You have no rubbing? Do you have heavy duty rear springs? Could you post some pictures? I did not think you could put that size tire on a non lifted cart.
Thanks! |

Re: Tires/Wheel question?
I do have the heavy duty springs. I don't have a photo of the cart going on the trailer,
But I do have photos of the cart with the HD springs. The tires just barely fit without running if the cart is exactly centered. It can take me a few tries to get it just right. You can see the trailer in this photo. |

Re: Tires/Wheel question?
Measured my wheels across and from the outermost lugs on the tires in the rear and got about 51", give or take an inch.
Here's a pic from the front. Measured 48-49" across the front. |
