Default transmission

Greetings, I took apart my 2004 transaxle and installed a limited slip kit. While it was apart, my dog accidentaly bumbed into it and the the tranny fell over tossing the internal gears. I put the gears all back in the proper places and closed up the two cases. When everything was together I noticed I left out a plastic round peice with a hole in the center. It appears to be some type of oiling peice. It's #37 on the imageshack transaxle diagram. My question is, will I destroy the tranny if I leave this part out?? Not sure how crucial the part is.

That is an oil guide. There are instructions in the service manual about correct installation. It doesn't say anything about the consequences of not having it there.
Looking at the drawings about installation, it looks like its designed to catch gear oil and direct some on to the synchronizers and shift fork.
Can't say for certain but guess that without it, you may not get good lubrication in the upper gear case causing the synchros and idler to ear quickly.

Unhappy Re: transmission

Yeah I guess I should. Probably squirts and directs a stream of oil to the top of the gears. Sucks to pull it all apart again. I suppose it will save me from a destroyed tranny in the future.
