Default 01' Club Car Smokes Bad!!!

Hi Everyone! I'm Back Sorry it's been awhile. I need your help on a 2001 Clubber that has 120 p.s.i. compression and new valves and valve stem seals. It still smokes like a train. What do I look at next? can it have a bad oil ring and still have this good of compression? I checked the comp. 3 times and even let it set with tester on it and after an hour it still had same psi.
Help I'm Lost.

Thanks, Doc.

Yes it can have good compression and have a bad oil ring. Thats exactly what happened to mine. I thought valves too but upon taking it apart the valve clearances all measured just fine. Once I took the rest of the engine apart I found some wear is the cylinder(still barely in spec) but the oil ring had lost it's tension which allowed oil to get past it. Once I had it bored and reinstalled the new piston and rings I could tell a big difference in how much tighter the tollerances were and how much extra "spring the oil ring had. Sounds like you may have to dig deeper.

Also if it has been lifted and you didn't lower the engine mount, then filled the oil to the full line on the stick it will have too much oil and smoke

Its not been lifted and I even lowered the oil amount slightly to make sure it wasn't over filled. Looks like I'll be pulling it and replacing rings this weekend.
