Question Oil level ? on lifted cart.

HOWDY FOLKS!!
I have a 97 Club Car DS with the FE290.
Since ive installed the 6" A-Arm lift kit, my oil full level mark is the add line on my dipstick. My question is >> in your opinion if I leave the motor the way it is (tilted upward due to the lift) does/will it affect anything due to the oil level not being in the same position as it was designed to be from the factory? I want to do whats best for dependability, and longitivity of my engine. Should I lower the front of the engine until the oil full level line is the same as it was before the lift?
Thanks for everyones input, and opinions!

I think your motor, like mine, is a splash based system. There is a bent piece of metal on the connecting rod that splashes or flings oil around with each revolution of the motor. With the motor tilted back, that splash paddle thing, isn't fully in the oil. As such, it is not as effective. Adding more oil will only cause excessively high oil pressure. This can lead to blown seals. The solution is to, as you suggested, lower the motor at the snubber mount.

All that said - Im assuming your motor is a splash based system. If it has an oil pump, then the answer may be different.

Let me dig around and see if your motor has an oil pump.

Upon digging around a bit, it does not look like your motor uses the splash system. It also looks like you have a welded snubber. With the welded snubber, lowering the front of the motor wont be as easy as with the earlier non welded models.

We need to look around and figure out if / where your oil pump pick up sits.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he'll have to do some cutting to lower his engine cradle in front. See post #20 of this thread for one member's solution:

my snubber bracket has 2 bolts holding it to the engine cradle.. Im gonna reverse the bracket so it lowers the front of the engine and see where it puts my oil level at on the stick! Ill get back with the results!

TRP: I sure am gaining some knowledge here. You may have just answered my problem....with 1991 KF82 flathead (non hydraulic lifters)
Here is what happened: Bought a lifted cart ran fine without noise, engine cradle has not been lowered. I changed oil and filled to full level on dip stick. When I drove it started smelling of a strong oil smell but never saw the signs of overflow. After researched here I knew I had overfilled. I drained oil and put in recomended amount and marked dipstick accordingly. Ever since this time my engine has a ticking sound like loose lifters. Now I am thinking I am not getting the splash I need for proper lube.

Ive decided to leave my snubber bracket alone.. I do a lot of woods riding and don't want anything hanging any lower than it has too! Ive probably ridden my cart 30 plus miles since I installed the lift with ZERO PROBLEMS...>> No ticking, funny noises, etc.. My full oil level mark is exactly on the add line on the stick. No one messes with my cart but me..so there wont be any issues with someone else changing the oil and over-filling it. Thanks for yalls input!

Glad I could be of service- I gained my knowledge, the same way - from the other cats here on the site. I still need to lower my engine cradle, as my motor too has waayyyyy to much oil in it. The previous owner 'topped it off' and didn't consider the side effects of the lift kit. I'm fortunate to have taken some time to read a lot of info here before I blew out the seals, or worse.

These carts are so addicting. I can't wait to actually USE mine!

I fully understand your logic there. I'm going to error on the other side of caution. With a 6" lift and 22" tires - if I'm in a situation where that 2" is going to make a difference between getting stuck and not? - I feel like that's going to be the least of my worries.

When the guns are worth more than the cart - I'm too much of a chicken to put the cart/guns/ammo in a precarious position.
