I know I want gas I know I want a back seat but if price is right I will add it. I also would like to beable to make it faster down the road with eas and I also may lift it someday when funds are there.

Re: buying golf cart what to buy
I chose Club Car because, In my opinion, I thought it was better built. I like the aluminum frame and the rack & pinion steering, neither of which were available on the older Yamaha's which were in my price range. I didn't know it when I started looking but, as it turned out, what I really wanted, and finally got was the Club Car Carryall.

Re: buying golf cart what to buy
I chose my Club Car because I got it for free. It was easy to lift, and with the governor removed it'll do 22mph. And that's with the 8hp 1984-1991 KF82 flathead motor. An FE series motor in that '03 Club Car will have between 9-11hp. So you'll have a bit more power than mine.
I can't speak for Yamaha carts because I've never had one. I hear they're pretty good. |

Re: buying golf cart what to buy
I had a yamaha for a few years ran great no issues. Parts were cheap etc. Sold that and now I have a club car DS. I think I like the club car better. Faster, easier to work on. Body on and off in minutes! aluminum frame Is a bonus. Mods are pretty much the same price. So it really gets down to what is out there in your price range. I would also recommend finding one off a golf course. Usually cheaper and they are serviced regularly unlike a lot if carts privately owned. Bottom line you are going to have fun either way!

Love mine...haven't had it out in a long time. Brought it to the lake and had a gas. need to fix the wondering steering at higher speeds.
Really leaning toward ordering the 18HP and seeing what else would help her out. |
