Question Help,Engine Starts no movement 1992 Gas CCar

Hello Everyone,

CCart starts but when I press the gas pedal it does not rev higher or move.
Bought it two years ago, lately it worked fine at the beginning then after a drive it would act up and it was like the gas pedal cable was not connected.

I have checked:
-filters
-gas pedal cable and the box that it connects to
-battery
-belts

My questions:
If an ideling 1992 Club Car is put into Forward and the gas pedal is pressed
what is most likely the problem for no movement or higher rev?

Thank YOU

Have you grabbed the throttle cable on the carb and tried to rev it from there ??

So is it just not starting then? When you hit the gas, it powers the electric starter/generator which then turns the motor over until it starts. Sounds to me like your cart isn't even firing up.

Question Re: Help,Engine Starts no movement 1992 Gas CCar

Thank You for the replies so far,

So what I was hearing was the starter turning over the engine ?
Since I dont smell any gas I suspect that there might
be spark but no gas. Will check filters.

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated

That's what it sounds like to me (starter running but motor not firing up). Hit the gas and run the starter for about 3-5 seconds, then pull the spark plug and see if it's wet inside the combustion chamber (plug should be wet too). If it's wet, you have fuel. Hold the plug body against the cylinder head to ground it (use some insulated pliers) and hit the gas pedal again, you should hear the plug clicking and see it sparking.

If the chamber is dry, you have a fuel problem; if the spark plug isn't sparking, you have a spark problem.

It's more often than not one of those two issues.

If for some reason you have fuel and spark, the only remaining part of the equation is air. Make sure that your air filter isn't completely clogged and suffocating your engine. If you think it's clogged, see if the cart will start with no filter. If it does, get a new one.

Before actually breaking out some tools, check to make sure there is fuel in the fuel filter( it should be a clear filter that you can see into), check to make sure the throttle is opening by looking at the carb while depressing the pedal. Sometimes the cable from the rear end governor to the carb breaks, seizes or comes out of the arm.

Hello Again,

Replaced the filter after the gas tank,it took awhile before it filled with gas.
Replaced the sparkplug and started it up,no change.Removed the sparkplug
and it looks like no gas is making it to the engine(sparkplug dry).
The cables all move like they are suppose to.

Any suggestions ?

Thank you in advance

Disconnect the fuel line from the carb. Does the hose spit fuel when you hit the gas?

Disconnect the fuel line from the carb and gas was coming out of it.
I guess I have to verify if I have spark ?
