Default hub question???

yesterday, after cleaning up from a day at the beach,i was wiping down the rims,on the old cart and noticed that the wheel had quiet a bit of play were it mounts to the hub,so i popped the plastic cover to tighten hub nut, and it was tight. and could not tighten it up more because i ran out of thread. is it suppose to have play or slop???? or can i add washers to snug it up were it still will roll freely?????

thanks pcc

How old is it? And have you made sure it's not the spindle bushings and/or upper control arm bushings....

I may have misread that. You shouldn't run out of thread on the hub. Maybe the spindle though? More info, please....

I think its 03 and newer that have the plastic dust covers in the middle of the hub. these use a sealed bearing as opposed to the older ones with metal covers that had tapered bearings.

once the ones on a newer cart are tight, they are tight. replace bearings.
