backfiring issues
so my cart has your typical back fire issue when coming down from high rpm and im lost on how to fix unless i make it idle.
i did not zip tie or hack job my governor but i did adjust the level of rpms it turns on at so instead of having it rage out till the rev limiter hit i have the governor kick in at about 4000 rpm and all other equipment in tack. but i still have the issue of a obnoxious back fire every know and then. i have tried to turn idle screw all the way down ive adjusted lean rich mixture and have even tried to tune the rpm down to around 3800 but still get a back fire any ideas |

Re: backfiring issues
Make, year and engine? Without that info I can only guess. If it's an older vehicle, the exhaust system can be plugged with carbon. Either a new muffler or, believe it or not, a lot of guys have cleaned the muffler by removing it and letting it "cook" in a camp fire.
