84-89 KF82 HEI Conversion
I recently bought a 86 gas club car with a bad ignition coil. The coil has been discontinued. I have been reading about HEI conversions people have done on 2 cycle and 4 cycle carts. Below is a wiring diagram for the conversion on a 4 cycle ezgo. The ezgo has 2 wires coming from the pulser coil. My club car only has one. Is one of the 2 wires on the ezgo a ground? Also what is the purpose of the excite coil and why do new carts and this ezgo not have them?

Re: 84-89 KF82 HEI Conversion
Would it be possible to wire it like this with G going to the single wire from the pulsing coil?

Re: 84-89 KF82 HEI Conversion
just checking to see if you ever got the HEI figured out, I have a similar setup on a 87 club cart - only change is the single wire coming from under the flywheel is connected to the W on the HEI unit and the G is grounded
