Default Kawasaki fe 290

I a, looking at switching over from my 82 ds to a 92 gas w a fe 290 engine with full e build , new starter, battery, clutches , belts etc . My plan is to do 23 inch tires w 6 inch lift how will this compare torque and power wise to my solenoid 36 v cart? Are these good motors what are some issues to look out for? Also will I need to machine the clutch and get a heavy duty spring to keep speed and torque? Please help I need to make a decision tomorrow!

The 9.5 hp FE290's have been used in Club Cars since 1992, (just over 20 years)
So, that should tell you that they're a pretty good engine!

IF your doing a complete rebuild, the only issue I can think of is the carburetor,
don't just clean it, or try to rebuild it... replace it!
(the butterfly's are known to break with age, and get sucked up in the engine!)

A 92 is a great year for a build!
The rotation of the transaxle is counter clockwise, and if you decide the FE290 isn't powerful enough, you can easily big block it!

As for the electric to gas changeover... to me, it's Apples and Oranges
If you can get over the engine noise and exhaust fumes, you'll find yourself pretty happy with the things you can do to make it go faster!

How much are you getting it for? (if you say FREE... I'm not talking to you anymore! )

Nice cart!

It looks to be a 2002 though, not a 92 as previously stated!

I agree. Looks more like a 2002. It has a 2002 seat.
