Installing larger jet in carb
I just got the larger jet and k&n filter for my '97 DS w/ FE290. The exploded diagram in the service manual is not super clear on where the jet is located. It appears to install from the bottom of the carb, after removing a bolt of some kind. Does this sound right? Does the carb have to be removed to do this install?
Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

Finally made sense of the diagrams. Ended up just pulling the **** thing and doing a complete cleaning. All good.

Honesty, not sure how much improvement it made. I'll have a better idea tomorrow when I cart the wife and the dog up to the coffee shop.
Flying solo I can't say it's very noticeable. Perhaps a little more grunt up the hills. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

If it shows improvements could you post he link to where you got your jet from. I'm looking to do the same thing to my cart.

Jet came from Tom at CartPartsPlus. The K&N I got locally because they quoted me a super low price....of course, when I showed up it was more so just get the one Tom has. Same price and it will support him.

Overall review....
Seems to pull a little better uphill and off the line. Not worlds different but a little more punch. I'm hoping the timing key helps some too. Haven't installed it yet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

I would really like to hear about the timing key whenever you get it installed. How difficult the install vs the net result with jet/filter.

Re: Installing larger jet in carb
The timing advance key is defiantly a more difficult job then just replacing a jet!
But... for me? it was worth the 3 hour tear down and reassemble just to get that little extra oomph that it gives ya'! |
