Re: 96 carryall 6 will not shut off when let off gas
Sounds as though the kill micro switch in the black box is out of adjustment or faulty. The Black box is located just forward and below of the battery in the engine compartment (Under the seat). Pull the air filter tube and remove the retaining screw from the top cover. The two micros sit atop each other. One has three connection points, the other has two. Both switches are identical save for the third connector but both can be wired the same, ie, just replace either with the three connect and ignore the third connector. The switches should "click" almost perfectly in synch both open and off throttle action. Easy to test with a continuity meter.
Please let us know the outcome. Chris. |

Re: 96 carryall 6 will not shut off when let off gas
No, Chris is talking about the electrical components box (black box) between the battery and the engine!
remove the 1 screw holding the cover on, and remove the cover, you'll see the micro's, solenoid, and the voltage regulator! Another suggestion would be to see if the GO pedal is returning fully, when it's still running when you stop, pull back on the GO pedal and see if it shuts off. |

Re: 96 carryall 6 will not shut off when let off gas
theres only one switch n that box and solenoid and voltage regulator and that switch makes cart stall if push gas in neutral but stays running in d or r the two micros mounted together are under the seat mounted behind shifter one is two prong and other is 3 prong

That has to be the most incoherent sentence ever. I've read it several times and it still doesn't make any sense. Chris. |

Chris... now THAT is a somewhat decent reply! (good job holding back on what you really wanted to say!)
Tech, If there's only 1 micro switch in the box with the solenoid, and voltage regulator... I think you've found your problem! there are supposed to be 2 micro switches stacked on top of each other! My guess is that the previous owner had a bad "engine kill" micro switch, and just removed it. |

Re: 96 carryall 6 will not shut off when let off gas
O.k., look... let's not worry about the micro's on the back of the shifter,
They really have nothing to do with your cart still running when you come to a stop and no foot on the GO pedal! Maybe the Carryall 6 just might be a different animal, but... from what I've ever seen, All "pedal start" gas Club Cars have 2 micro switches in the electrical components box, one is to energize the solenoid to run, and one to kill the engine to stop. Is there a way you can post a picture of the wiring diagram you have? |

Re: 96 carryall 6 will not shut off when let off gas
I have a weird feeling... is this a "key start" Carryall 6?
I just looked through my 07 wiring diagrams, and found one that has just 1 micro switch in the ECB... and it's for a key start Carryall 6. |
