Default driven clutch wont come off

just got my parts in from cart parts plus......

so i go to pull my driven clutch off, and the first thing i noticed, was there is no bolt to pull off, not a good start. so i soak it down with pb blaster, and take a rubber mallot to try and free it up, nothing happens. i have been following threads on this subject, and thinks i may have to go buy some kind of puller, but wanted to see if anybody might have a sugestion before i did......

no bolt!!!! and stuck like chuck!!!!

Oh dear god I hope you are able to get that thing off easier than I did mine. I had to destroy mine beyond recognition in order to remove it and I was beyond relieved when the thing finally broke off the input shaft and the input shaft was undamaged. I hope for the same result for you. PM me if you want to call me and fill in any information not seen in the thread below...

I realize my experience was pretty much the pinnacle of how bad it can get. One thing I would have done differently is remove the body right away so I could get more leverage with the hammer. There was hardly any swinging room with the body on. But by the time I realized that, I had already cracked the sheave.

Good luck!

Thanks, lol. For what it's worth, my Mom grew up in Monroe Louisiana, and went to TCU...

BTW if I didn't mention in in my thread, I tried a three-finger puller (which I'm assuming is the Ohio version of the jaw puller) but all it did was break my inner sheave.

Funny enough, also, I have a buddy who is trying to get his driven clutch off as well. But he has an advantage over us, he has the axle completely out of the cart. He currently has it standing up on end with PB blaster soaking down into the problem area right now. We may have a go at it tomorrow.

A bit after the event but use some "Copperslip" grease on that shaft when re-assmbling. It's copper powder in suspension in a lubricant and helps prevent corrosion between dissimilar metals. ( Electrolytic action).
