Default Why is the passenger side handle bent

Not a big deal but I notice that the handle at the passenger side of the seat has a bend in it and the drivers side doesn't. There must be a reason for this but the logic escapes me.

Ok here's (hopefully) a photo. My carryall II is a 1997. Even the parts manuals show the RH handle as being "bent"

Mine is/was like that too....I think it might be a factory default....mine had no noticeable chips in the paint where the bend was.

I ended up raising my arm rests but still used the factory issued ones as a base/support.

you can see on mine here:

hope this helps!

Easy answer, The driver's side is lower to allow big guys like me to get in behind the steering wheel. The passenger's side has plenty of room.

This is funny... I have no clue why it's bent, but it is!
I just drove buy a used cart dealer, and he had 3 Carryalls in his lot, All 3 had bent passenger hip rails!

O.k.... maybe not funny to you, but after seeing all 3 in a row like that,
I thought of this thread and had to chuckle because, I just don't see a reason for it!

OK, I think I've got it. It isn't that the RH side is bent down, it's that the LH - drivers side - isn't curved up. Extra protection for the passenger that doesn't have a steering wheel to hang onto, and easier in and out for the driver. Makes sense.

I'm going with this until something better comes along. Thanks everyone for your help.
