oil change now oil light
hey guys i have had my cart since feb or march and had not changed the oil yet. i finally got around to it. pre oil change i was running the cart with no rev limiter and a tach with the governor shutting me down at about 4400 rpms with no problems whatsoever. i used havoline 10-30 synthetic thinking this would be better for the engine. after the change now i get the oil light turning on when i rev over 4000 rpms. should i change up to straight 30 or regular 10-30? thanks

is the cart lifted? if so you can,t go by the full mark on the the dipstick the lift throws it off..................also just so you know 4400 rpm,s your playing in the danger zone............................................

yes the cart is lifted. i went by the stickies and put 1.6 quarts in. is that too much? i also dont run 4400 too often. on the trails where i do most of the riding it is in the 4200 range.

i beleive it calls for 40 ozs of oil so you might be low.......it could also be the driving at 4400 rpm,s you might want to get a tiny tach.......like i said your in the danger zone...........................

hey shadow someone should change the stickie that says to put 1.6 quarts of oil in. 1.6 quarts equals out to about 51.2 ounces so i have way too much oil in. i need to drain some more out. i have a tiny tach also. most driving i do is in the 4100 to 4200. hopefully when i drain the oil out it will fix my problem.

32 oz without the filter 38 oz with the filter (per the CC repair manual)  |

i too had my oil light comming on. i was running correct amount of oil but it was regular 30 wt. i switched to mobile 1 this last oil change and no longer have my oil light comming on on long high rpm pulls.
