Re: Performance cam
I don't think anyone makes an off the shelf performance cam for it. I think you have to get one welded and reground.

Re: Performance cam
You have to understand... without major modifications from a small engine racing engineer, it still is only an 11.5 hp, one lung, engine!
My FE350 does extremely well for being a stocker with a bunch of "bolt on" add on's! (as yours is!) Seriously... what is it that your expecting from your 11.5 hp, single cylinder engine? ... up to 21 hp? If you need more... just go Big Block! (the FE350 can't compete with those!) .02 |

Re: Performance cam
Lockman1, You still should be able to get 15 out of it without going crazy. They are tuned way down for their size. I had an old 4 wheeler (80's technology) 350cc single factory made 18hp, bump the compression, change cam, exhaust, and jets and you got mid 20's without going into the bottom end and without loosing a lot of engine life. I know it was a different engine but 15hp isn't going crazy. The problem is there isn't a proven cam out there to buy. Anything done would be trial and error and that costs a lot of money. I wish someone would make some higher ratio rocker arms for them. It will give you a little bump without having to go into the engine. I have heard these engines respond well to porting the head but the cam is just too mild to take full advantage.
Have you milled the head down and bored it out already? |

Re: Performance cam
I would mill it and put the timing advance in. I wouldn't worry too much about porting unless you just wanted to do it. Then you will pretty much be maxed out on the engine without dropping a lot of cash.
If you want to get crazy you can always go this route http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTORCYCLE-Q...e39815&vxp=mtr |
