Default Burning oil?

I have a 96 club car ds and the oil level keeps dropping dramaticly. It also seems to smoke a bit when driving it. I did a compression test last night and it showed 150 psi so now im lost as to where the oil is going? There doesnt seem to be any leaks!

Default Re: Burning oil?

The oil-rings could be bad, which will not affect compression, but it will use oil.Valve-Guides can also cause it.If you can get one(even from Harbor-Freight)use a Leak-Down Tester. You connect it thru the spark-plug hole, put the piston on TDC on Compression-Stroke(valves closed).Charge the cylinder with air and listen for leaks at the carb, exhaust and oil-fill.This will tell where your leaks are internally, although this will only be a minor leak since the compression is still high.Hope this helps.
