smoking club car
I know I used the search and read some stuff. I checked the compression and it is 155. I don't know what it is supposed to be. I also read about a vacuum line that will get clogged and make oil suck in but not sure where that is? I did find this line along the gas line though that is not connected to anything.
Thanks guys. |

Re: smoking club car
That's a new one! Your pulse line looks to be hooked up under the dip stick and the fuel line from the tank to the carb. Maybe the previous owner ran the vent line for the fuel tank there? Mine smokes a little but I blame that on 20 year piston rings that are prolly worn.

Re: smoking club car
well lets start with a wash and an oil change it may be just as simple as that , the oil may be saturated with gas or so old that its broken down and flashing off

Re: smoking club car
The compression on a new engine should be around 156 psi, so your 155 is pretty darn good!
The yellow line attached to your fuel line is the carburetor vent/overflow line, it goes to a nipple on the carb that's just below the idle screw, next to the air/fuel mixture screw... FE290 Carb.jpg The nipple is a little difficult to see and access because of the linkage shield, but it can be done! Note: the routing of the carb vent line through the frame is factory, and should remain that way! As for it burning/using oil, it could be a number of things, Nobuck's suggestion is a good start! |

Ok so 155 is good then nice. I will wash it and change the oil and see what happens. It smokes really bad and I have to add oil all the time. so I don't think it can be that old.
