Default Cart sputters

I have a 2007 gas club car precedent. The cart will run fine for awhile and then it will start to sputter. If I let it sit for alittle bit, it will (most of the time) start to run fine again. Once in awhile as it is sputtering, the cart will correct itself and start running fine again. I've replaced the gas filter and checked the gas lines.Any ideas on what else to look for? Thanks

sometimes just spraying it will due the trick but I like to pull it apart and due a good cleaning...little more time and effort but worth it. I am hearing more rumors about using sea foam and what a great job it does - I have no first hand knowledge so maybe someone else will chime in. Also, I have been reading in the go kart forums that they boil their carbs in lemon juice to remove all the varnish and deposits. Youtube is a great tool for looking at both procedures.

thanks. I removed the carb and gave it a real good cleaning on all the parts. put it back together and low and behold it ran good for about 10 ninutes and it went back to sputtering again. i'm lost again. this thing will run and then sounds like it is going to shut off and then it will pick up and go again. when it is doing this it will rock you back and forth in the seat. would the fuel pump make this happen. it seams that this is starting to happen more often now.

My honda engine would run fine for a while until it heated up. Ended up being the ignition coil. Once it would heat up it would malfunction.

96+ engines have the igniter incorporated in the coil!

I would first disconnect the ground wire on the rev limiter (lower front of the engine) to see if that helps the sputtering!
If it does... the limiter is going bad!
