Default 90'S DS rear diff question

First of all, I have 2 EZGO's and have not had much experience with CC's. I am cloning a EZGO Marathon and a DS. I have a donor rear diff from a early 90's DS. The rear diff did not come with the cables or anything else. I need to know which way is forward on the diff. Meaning with the rear diff mounted in the traditional manner, which way does the shift arm on the rear diff point. Towards the driven clutch (passenger side) or towards the drivers side? Any help would be appreciated before I start planning the rest of the install.

Thank you very much for the drawings, I will save them for future use. But I was not able to answer my question. I just need someone to shift their cart into the forward gear (with the cart turned off) with the handle under the front of the seat, then look at the arm on the top of the rear diff where the cable attaches and let me know which way the end of that arm points toward. Drivers side or passengers side.

Thanks again for the diagrams.

Thank you very much. If I was going to guess that is the way It would have been, but I don't want to guess at this point. I appreciate your time.
