Front Leaf Spring
Hi guys,
I have a 1991 DS cart, the front leaf spring broke due to my golfing buddy being a bit on the heavy side. What I would like to know, will a new DS or Precedent leaf spring and bushing kit fit on my 1991 model are they all standard size? Our local Club car dealer in Johannesburg does not know. Thanks |

Re: Front Leaf Spring
Welcome to BGW Sringbok!
(I almost had you confused with Springbok... another member here!) I did a "parts list" comparison between a 2008 Precedent, 2007 DS, and a 1993 DS The 08 Prec, and 07 DS have the same front leaf, but different sleeves and urethane bushings, #1012030 ~ Leaf spring (Gas and Elec.) The 93 had 2 different listings for the leaf: #1015108 ~ leaf spring (Gas) #1012030 ~ leaf spring (Elect) My guess is that the #2030 leaf is a bit stiffer to handle battery weight. The bushings and sleeve are the same on the 93 and 07 DS's #1015583 ~ Urethane bushing (4) #1012303 ~ Sleeve (2) as for your 91... (another guess) I'm thinking the #2030 leaf, with the sleeves, and bushings listed above will work. Hope this helps! |

Re: Front Leaf Spring
Good opportunity here to install lift kit and heavy duty rear springs! Especially if your heavy friend is flipping the bill....
Welcome to the forum - you must be a cousin to Springbok. South Africa - does that mean your driving an import CC? |

Re: Front Leaf Spring
Good morning from South Africa.
Thanks lockman1 gave your reply to the parts guy and said this will help, just awaiting his reply. clubcar 5 the cart is definitely an import, I believe all CC in SA are imported from States. Well I don't call my golf buddy Big Show for nothing and that is not for the way he is playing golf. He will be walking from now on. And now we come to my user name it should have been Springbok but I made a mistake and I missed the p so know it is Sringbok. I have no idea what it means and there is definitely no such buck in the world. So Springbok give it horns. Springbok are you a South African living in the States? Dankie vir julle hulp (this is Afrikaans and it means) Thanks for you help Go Bokke!! |

It's a shame we don't live closer, I have an entire stock front suspension from my '87 Club Car just collecting dust in my basement. I'd pretty much give it away for free if someone needed it! I figure that shipping may make it not worth your while, but if for some reason you can't get one and want to pay shipping, let me know and I'll get a quote. Do you plan on customizing your cart at all or are you just fixing it for now? Here's my thread showing my cart's progress. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...-club-car.html My '87 cart is nearly identical to your '91 mechanically, so if you ever have any questions just ask. |

Re: Front Leaf Spring
Leave it to Club Car to have 7 different part numbers for basically the same part!
$76.00 US isn't too bad, if... that includes shipping! BGW sponsors have aftermarket front springs for half that cost, but, getting them to ship to S. Africa may prove to be difficult! on a side note: I had to look up Bokke, and Biltong... I just learned something about Rugby, and African Jerky! |
