Default Tach wire tip

Just a short tech tip. I have a gas cc perecedent. I added a hour meter/ tach to the cart. At the time of testing the tach worked great. Then after the install I thought I saw a change in the way the tach operated. To get the pick up wire to reach I had to extend the wire about a foot. NOT GOOD the tach worked but things just didn't quite jive. The tach readings just did not mach the speed or sound of the engine. So I took the time to reroute the wire in a way to have the supplied length would reac the engine and still be out of the way and sight. Took the cart back out. And sure enough the tach readings changed. As well as mached the speed as well as the sound of the engine. That in it's own was worth the time and work to rerun the wire. Due to the fact that I was OVER REVING the engine by a good amount. With the extension the tach readings would be low from about 1k and up to the point that at around 4500 + - the tach was reading around 2800. A real quick way to granade an engine. Hope this information helps someone.

I don't mean any disrespect!
But... THAT was a "difficult read"... Good info!!!... it was just difficult to read!
Could you please try to use the enter key to try form proper sentences and paragraphs to split things up a bit?

Here's my rendition of what you wrote:

I just bought a tiny tach and was about to install it. I was pondering extending its length, wondering if it would have some false effect as you experienced. Thanks to your post, I know better now.
