Default Snubber enquiry

Hi, this is my first posting. I have been told by fellow members of my club that my '92 cart has a snubber missing. After searching through your forums I found what I was looking for but how does one actually fit the thing? I can only pick the engine tray up by about 1 cm. Thanks

It looks like this. The tongue of your engine cradle just slides into the flat opening and just rests there in the frame. Should be able to install it without any tools.

The difficult part with your 92 cart, is that your snubber bracket is welded on!
(unlike Springboks older cart, and my newer cart, which are both bolted on!)

I use a floor jack and jack up the engine pan just so the snubber will fit in between the two frame stops, lining up the slot,
the difficult part for you, will be trying to slide the snubber onto the bracket in between the frame stops... from the side!
Have some patients... and be prepared to say a few nasty words... But, it WILL go on from the side!

A little dish soap on the snubber bracket may help also!

Thanks LOCKMAN1 that is going to be very useful, mine is on order as we speak. Will securing some compressed rubber with cable ties between the snubber bracket and the frame be of any use until the snubber arrives?

That's how mine was when I got it, looked like they used a piece of radiator hose

Interesting, have you got your snubber yet. Is your bracket also welded on?

The round/open side goes up! (it may be the only way it'll fit!)

You can if the "clunking" of the bracket to the frame annoys you,
but, it won't hurt anything if you run without it until the snubber comes in!
