Default Steering play-what to adjust?

Hi all
I got the front cowl off my 95 DS. My steering wheel has about 2 inches of turn in either direction before the wheels actually turn. As i am moving the wheel slightly left to right,i can see the inside of the black rubber boots going back and forth but again it has to go a bit before the wheels actually move. There doesnt appear to be any sort of slop at the end where the grease fitting is, is there something else to tighten up? I havent got a service manual yet so i dont know the proper names for all this.thanks!

Off hand I would say that you have one of two problems (or both) ...
1. Tie rod end is worn
2. Rack unit is excessively worn

Now the tie rod end is the part with the grease fitting right? If so,I only have one on my cart,is that right? Its on the passenger side of the cart.
