2001 Club Car keeps running
I have a 2001 Club Car DS I recently purchased, today it stated running even with the key off. Once I tapped the black box and it stopped. Tonight I was running and the lights quit working. When I checked the battery it started trying to run again with the key off, and the lights came back on. The positive lead was hot and it appeared that some of the cast around the lead had melted. Could a ground be causing this?

Re: 2001 Club Car keeps running
After riding around the park the new solenoid has done the same thing as the old. I have been told a sticking micro switch could cause it but can't afford to keep buying parts and burning them up. Anyone have any ideas?

see if the wire to the rpm limiter came apart or is loose (under the front of the engine)

Re: 2001 Club Car keeps running
Generally speaking, if I change a solenoid, I also change the micro-switches. The micro-switches are cheap.
I had a solenoid do the same thing and the only way I could get it to stop was unhook the battery cable. I replaced the solenoid, but never had the issue pop back up. That's strange...... |

I think you have a sticking micro switch. I don't understand your first sentence, did you replaced the micro switches or not?
