Custom/Homemade Dash Shelf
I am trying to figure out a better way to make a dash over the existing dash on my cart.
Right now I just have the simple wood box-like bin that I painted black. I am trying to find ideas/suggestions to re-work the dash shelf. Has anybody done something similar or have suggestions. I just want it to go from support frame to support frame over the factory dash. As it is now. As a junk/cup holder. Same size basically. I just want a cleaner look. Any links/suggestions are appreciated! |

Re: Custom/Homemade Dash Shelf
Dont you have an exsisting dash that has storage in it? And factory drink holders?

Re: Custom/Homemade Dash Shelf
I sure don't. I put speakers and panels over the factory space a couple years ago when I made the pictured over dash shelf.

:-)
I just think the box I have looks sloppy. It works well though. Plus it gives me something to add to the cart new. |

Re: Custom/Homemade Dash Shelf
That looks pretty good. Quite a bit smaller then your other box.

Re: Custom/Homemade Dash Shelf
In my head I am picturing something more rounded off.
Kind of like an egg tipped on its side cut in half with the curve towards the front of the cart to flow with the cowl of the cart. Then compartments like the factory dash towards the passenger/drivers seat. I appreciate the input! I considered buying a used or factory second carbon/woodgrain dash panel. Painting it black and making the box like I mentioned below attaching it to the used dash panel and placing it above the factory dash where I have the box/shelf now. I think theses panels are a little wider than the canopy supports though. Plus I wanted to do this as inexpensively as possible. |
