1986 DS Carb rebuilt, linkage not right?
Does anyone have pictures of the carburetor on a 1984-92 Gas DS cart which would clearly show the carburetor linkage? The manuals and diagrams I have seen to date are not very clear. I rebuilt the carb on my son's cart, and it seems to run great, but the linkage is just not allowing much throttle using the pedal.

Re: 1986 DS Carb rebuilt, linkage not right?
I don't have a closer pic on this machine.. But I know there's a few images floating around that would help you out.
Essentially you've got the accelerator rod, which connects from the pedal, to the bottom of the black box below the airbox. Then a throttle cable comes out of the side of the box, has a spring on it, and goes to the arm on the side of all this linkage (passenger side of engine). That arm then connects via that short rod on top to the actual throttle on the carb. And you've got a governor rod which goes from the same area as that short rod, but goes all the way back to the transmission. Once you reach a certain speed, the rod pulls the throttle back. From your description, I'd be looking at either the accelerator rod, not being long enough. Or the governor rod needing to be adjusted. If I make my governor to long it's either WOT or nothing, and there's nothing inbetween. On the opposite side, if the governor arm is to short, it will kick in at a very low speed. which may be the problem. If you remove the rear panel, you can access the bolt on the side of the governor rod. Loosen, adjust, then retighten. To adjust to a factory spec, loosen the bolt, have someone push the pedal to the floor, then tighten the governor adjustment bolt. I usually lengthen it slightly from there. Far away probably useless pic Edit: These images are courtesy of Springbok.. He's a wealth of knowledge and he'll probably chime in as well. This is the governor adjustment under the rear panel |

What exactly do you need a picture of? Show me a pic of yours and I'll get a shot of the same thing on mine.
