Default HID kit installed

Installed a set of HID bulbs in the standard headlight kit. I forgot to take a long distance before and after.. But they go at least twice the distance. Like you've got the brights on all the time and more modern looking.

Picked them up from ddmtuning. Under 50 bucks shipped. Been using them in my cars for years. (these are 35w 8000k)

That's awesome!!

I can't run halogen headlights anymore ever since I got my first set of LED 6000K headlights. From now on it's HID or LED all the way for me!

Agreed.. I can't stand the yellow.. Unless they're in fog lights.

Yellow fog lights are cool, but I took a different approach - on my Envoy I wired things up so that when the high beams are on the highs, lows, and fogs all shine. On low beam you can still choose to run with or without the fogs. All it took was some scrap wire and two diodes. I also used a relay and wired around the ballast killing DRL function. Getting a projector setup is on my wish list.

I've been very happy with DDM Tuning as well. Have them in my truck, wife's car, two friends' cars, mom's car...except for the occasional plastic clip breaking, I've had no issues with quality. Don't have them on my cart yet, but I'm sure soon enough. :)

Whats the current draw on the DDM LED headlamps? Will it get me a bit more range out of battery charge? Or are they just brighter?

Here's what they have on their site for them.. "draws less than 6 amps at start up and 3.4 amps at normal operating temperature"
But I don't know what the draw is on the normal halogen bulbs to compare to.

I will say, they don't dim out like the stock bulbs when you let off the gas and you aren't charging. They stay constant, which is nice.

Im not finding LED headlights on DDM Tuning. The only thing I am seeing is the DRL Cree LED lights which only put out 335 lumens. which is about a third of a normal halogen headlight.

Not sure where the LED line came into it.. But these are "xenon" HID bulbs. And I quoted the draw for those. Not LED's. Those would obviously be less.

Thanks I thought that was high for LED. I know they are out there but they all have fans on the back so that would be bad news bears for an off road cart. HIDs are awesome, I just dont like the time it takes for them to fire up.
