Jakes 6" lift left wheel rubs
I put a jakes 6" lift kit on my buddys 1996 ds gas this weekend. Everything went smooth except when I took it for its first spin the left front tire is rubbing when I turn left. There is plenty of clearance on the right side and does not rub. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Jakes 6" lift left wheel rubs
Need more details, what is it rubbing on? Pictures would also help. It may be that you didn't properly setup your steering, so you may have more steering throw in one direction or the other. Pictures that would help would be the spot it is rubbing at, and the inner and outer tie rod ends on both sides. When setting your steering, you need to make sure your steering box( rack and pinion) is set to dead center, meaning equal amount of turns from left to right lock to lock. I also set my steering by threading my tie rods all the way in on both sides, then adjusting both sides equally while setting the initial alignment.

Re: Jakes 6" lift left wheel rubs
I'll get pics on my lunch hour. The left tire is rubbing the fender lip when turning left. I set the rack at dead center when I did the lift. The right tire is fine turning left and right. The left wheel turns right ok just can't come back more then 50% left without catching the fender.

Re: Jakes 6" lift left wheel rubs
I'm not a lift / tire expert but from reading on the forum I would think that setup should work. Is it possible the lift isn't a 6''? I have a 90 ds with 6'' lift and mine has about 2 to 3'' clearance.

Re: Jakes 6" lift left wheel rubs
I spoke with jake's tech support and they told me to check the front spring. Since the cart lived most its life on the golf course and one driver they think the spring may be sagging on the drivers side. Does anyone know if I can take that spring a flip it around to see if my problem changes sides?
