By the way I also have a 1993 Club and have had similar issues. Here's what I replaced and I know of no way to check these parts to see what is bad.
1) Spark plug or check to see if its fouled, gap should be around .030
2) Spark plug cap, it screws on the wire and attaches to the plug
3) Ignitor, it sits on the front of the engine near the bottom. You will see wires running to the area
4) Ignition coil, this is the hardest to do so last resort. Have to take cowlings off for access, but the spark is fed thru the plug wire from here

Could be any or all of these, but probably one of the first 3. If you have to order an ignitor check here as there is a part number floating around that is much cheaper.

The solenoid would have nothing to do with weak spark. Pretty much when that goes I believe the starter just wont turn. If its a bad solenoid think you can jump across it with a large screwdriver to get the voltage to the starter. Just my 2 cents worth......

Should be blueish in color, yellow to orange generally means its weaker. Kinda like a flame, always want the blue color there also as its the hottest..

Is the plug wet? Are you for sure getting fuel into the combustion chamber?
