Default Rear end noise

There is a fairly loud whining/whirring noise coming somewhere from the rear end. It started last year (it's a campground cart), got progressively worse for a while and then continued this year. The sound remains constant now but hasn't got any worse. The cart runs and drives fine other than this noise. It's a late 90's Club Car DS. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Jim.

I'd try some Lucas transmission 'glue' in that rear...comes in a white quart bottle with a pour spout, and you can get it at any auto parts store...the stuff is bright red like tranny fluid, but thick as molasses...it has drastically reduced noise and extended the life of any gearbox or rear end I've used it in over the past 20 years. I believe the stuff actually 'plates' the gear teeth..but then again, I believe the Russians 'accidentally' crossed into Ukraine because they left their compass and maps at home, and were only looking for a service station to ask directions.

You don't have much to lose, and you could be driving that puppy for years without a problem.
